Ministry International

The SISTAHS Ministry International

Uniting Women and Teenage Girls to Impact Their World  - EMPOWER.  INFORM.  INSPIRE.

A Volunteer is Our Best Ambassador

The S.I.S.T.A.H.S. Ministry cannot succeed without a strong core of volunteers. We are excited to know that there is a revived spirit of volunteerism in the U.S. Whether you have one hour a week or one day a year to give, there is a place where you can give back.

Do you want something that is short and infrequent? Or could you donate a certain amount of time each week or month?  As a Volunteer for The S.I.S.T.A.H.S. Ministry it will be entirely selfless. It is important that you enjoy working with the Ministry and continue volunteering with us.

In addition to the positive feeling of accomplishment that you get from helping others, volunteering offers other rewards. Special events connect you with other people with whom you share a common goal--the success of the event--expanding your network of friends and can bring potential business or employment opportunities. Volunteering also provides valuable experience an employer may look for on a resume.

Opportunities to Serve at The S.I.S.T.A.H.S. Ministry Events:

Annual Women & Teen Community Outreach Baby Clothes Giveaway

  • Donate gently used clothing
  • Sort and organize clothing
  • Serve on day of event

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Setup for the Event

The day of the event volunteers are expected to assist in the set-up in various areas, which includes but is not limited to: preparing food, equipment and furniture to set-up, assembling displays, or posting signs. Volunteers are expected to arrive on time or even early, ready to work. Most importantly, volunteers must remain calm under pressure and give assistance when asked.

During the Event

Once the event starts, volunteers typically will greet arriving guests, serve food or beverages, direct visitors, hang coats, hand out information or even manage other volunteers. We expect volunteers, as the face of the organization, to act approachable and friendly, dress appropriately and maintain flexibility for sometimes-changing duties. A strong volunteer has high energy, and a good sense of humor. Once the event has concluded, volunteers are expected to remain for clean-up and closing duties, if any.
